- Bamboo sushi rolling mat
- Sharp sushi knife
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 full-sized sheet of nori (can be cut smaller if desired)
- Approximately ¾ cupseasoned sushi rice
Inside Roll
- 6 ounces sushi-grade salmon, thinly sliced
- 1 ripe avocado, thinly sliced
- Soy sauce (for serving)
- Wasabi and pickled ginger (optional, for serving)
Prepare the Nori and Rice:
- Start through laying your nori sheet flat on a smooth floor. Evenly spread a thin layer of pro sushi rice over the nori, making sure it reaches all the edges. For a delivered touch, sprinkle some black sesame seeds over the rice if you want.
Set Up Your Rolling Station:
Assemble the Roll:
- Wet your palms to prevent sticking. Spread a fair layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving approximately 1 inch of space at the top.
- Arrange slices of salmon and avocado horizontally across the middle of the rice.
Slice and Serve:
- Use a pointy knife to reduce the roll into 6-8 even pieces. Wipe the blade with a humid fabric among cuts to preserve it smooth.
- Serve straight away with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
